olpcnews South America road trip
Christoph Derndorfer, OLPC (Austria) volunteer and olpcnews co-editor, is currently on the olpcnews South America road trip and traveling through Uruguay, Paraguay, and Peru to learn more about the OLPC projects in these countries. He is documenting his impressions and experiences on olpcnews and the OLPC (Austria) blog. Additionally an event about the journey will probably be held in Vienna in autumn.
Meet us to learn more about OLPC
Do you want to learn more about the global olpc project? Are you working on a project within the context of OLPC? Do you want to play with the famous XO-1 / XO-1.5 laptops that more than a million children around the world are using? Are you interested in supporting OLPC (Austria) and our projects?
Then get in touch with us at office@olpc.at so we can arrange a meeting! Although we are generally based in Vienna we also regularly spend time in Graz and Linz.
Our latest public presentation took place on March 24, 2010 as part of the GADI lecture series at Graz University of Technology. A recording of the presentation (in German) is available at here.
About Us
OLPC Austria is an open and versatile group supporting the OLPC project in many different ways. Everyone's invited to contribute!
The Project
One Laptop Per Child is one of the most ambitious education projects ever attempted. The idea is simple: children in developing nations receive special laptops that enable them to learn and get access to our connected world.
